KYKLOS 4.0, a project funded by the European Union’s H2020 research and innovation programme, has €1 million to fund seven consortia of SMEs and industrial entities to deliver innovative solutions to help advance digital manufacturing processes.

KYKLOS4.0 is a 48-month project delivered by 29 organisations across Europe. It aims at providing an ecosystem that creates and supports the configurations, methodologies, production techniques, decisions and actions at all different levels and stages of the equipment manufacturing value chain. It aims to deliver an increased production efficiency, reduce waste, boost competitiveness and lower costs for European manufacturers, particularly for SMEs.
The KYKLOS4.0 – Open Call #1 invites SME-led consortia of up to three entities to submit project proposals for the development of innovative solutions to improve digital manufacturing processes. Proposed solutions – to be delivered though experiments – should demonstrate a high innovation potential and be ready to explore commercialisation opportunities by the end of experiment period. As part of the experiment, the solution must be validated and demonstrated in the pilot location, which should be provided by one of the applicant’s consortium partners.

Each selected project will be funded with up to €150.000, in the case of a consortia of three entities.

The KYKLOS4.0 – Open Call #1 offers awarded projects with equity-free funding and business and technical support, namely:

  • Equity-free funding: Up to €150.000 per project (consortia of three partners).
  • KYKLOS 4.0 technologies: get access to and integrate in your experiment technologies being used in the KYKLOS4.0 project.
  • Business support: business coaching and training, support in defining value proposition and testing business ideas, funding opportunities.
  • Visibility and promotion: promotion of project and results via the KYKLOS4.0 network, access to events, potential meet-up and connection to investors.
  • Access to and support from the partners of the KYKLOS4.0 project.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

To apply, entities must set up a consortium of 2-3 entities, which must be led by an SME. Visit the KYKLOS4.0 website to access all the relevant documentation and prepare your proposal, which must be submitted via F6S, by 30 June 2021. All proposals submitted will be verified, evaluated, and contacted with their result. Awarded proposals will enter into an agreement with KYKLOS4.0. Online info sessions will be implemented during the open call, so don’t forget to visit the website.
Awarded projects will implement their experiments over the course of six months, organized into three interrelated stages: Planning, Implementation, and Commercialisation & Business Sustainability. KYKLOS will offer mentoring and technical and business support in each of these stages.
